Tilman is a multilingual and interculturally experienced Senior Consultant, certified Executive Coach, Facilitator and Business Mediator with nearly 15 years of HR related work experience in the automotive industry out of which almost 10 years in international leadership positions. In his last corporate role as HR Director of General Motors Europe he was overseeing 3,000 employees across Europe and successfully driving major restructurings and organizational change.
Tilman is deeply committed and passionate about cross-cultural communication as he has lived, studied and/or worked among other places, in Chicago, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Madrid, Zürich and since 2014 in Shanghai including a 6 month stay in Kunming to study Mandarin full-time at Yunnan University in 2016.
He is now consulting, coaching and training Western as well as Asian leaders of mainly multinational corporations helping them to successfully go through change while leveraging their personal as well as professional development. Tilman’s fields of expertise are: behavioral change, leadership (skill) development, organizational change, career transitioning, onboarding, intercultural awareness (Western culture vs. Chinese culture), emotional intelligence and mindfulness, transactional analysis and communication, consulting and mediation in (intercultural) conflict situations, self management and high performance.
Tilman also designs, conducts and facilitates leadership trainings and workshops such as intercultural teambuilding workshops or "Coaching skills for leaders“ Trainings.
He holds degrees in Personnel management & Economy as well as a Master’s in Educational Science, Psychology and Sociology.
Tilman is fluent in German, English and Spanish and also is proficient in French. His Chinese language skills are currently at HSK3 level and continuously improving. Tilman has the German and US-American nationality.
