Competency Modeling

Defines success factors and standards - driving business strategies and performance
A well-defined Competency Model
  • Establishes performance standards required for the effective execution of the business strategies
  • Provides a platform for performance management across the organization
  • Supports the execution of talent development strategies and succession planning

Success Story: Shanghai-based global medical equipment company

Challenges: Globally defined Leadership Competency Model (LCM) doesn't adequately align with nor address the local market situations. There is a clear need to adapt the existing LCM to better match the unique business conditions in China.
Solution: Through a series of focused interviews, focus groups, and surveys, the LCM is validated against the key stakeholders'  input, based on which new, relevant elements were created as part of the adapted LCM.
Results: The new LCM is fully aligned with the global standards while at the same time addresses the local market situations. It is now deployed extensively in the recruitment process and used as a platform for performance management.
